You once wrote that "anthropomorphic" means something that only exists when people belive it does.

That's not correct.

Anthropomorph is a mix of the two latin words "anthrope" and "morph", meaning "Human" and "Transformation". Anthrope-o-morph becomes anthropomorph in english and is often shortened to just "anthro".

Anthro or anthropomorphic is actually an adjective that means "humanified" or "human-trsnsformed" and it's mainly used about animals. (in your case dragons too)

? I don't think I ever said that, I always had the definition of anthropomorphic that you just mentioned. If I said otherwise, I misspoke, lol.
