_{Well, I was searching around on the internet, and I found an unpleasant surprise: some idiot had been copying and pasting my old stories onto a forum and pretending that he was the author. Nice. It happened years ago so there isn't really any point in me going after him now. He probably doesn't even visit those forums anymore. However, this has made my paranoia skyrocket, and I'm really questioning whether or not I want to post any more of my current story until it is published.

Sure, since I've been posting on DA I'm getting copyright timestamps on the things, so it is already copyrighted to me technically speaking. I also have friends who can testify in court about this (got signatures from them to prove it, lol). However, these arent exactly full-proof, and I'm worried that some ahole might take my ideas or even the entire first few chapters and claim that HE's the owner. It wouldn't be the first time it has happened, or the second, though I guess it takes an ahole of an even greater level to try and publish someone else's work. The thing is though, it happens!

I've been doing research, and the only fullproof thing is to go to the US copyright office, but that costs like $40 a shot and all I have are rough drafts. There are also sites that do the same thing, but I'm not sure that I can trust them.

Blllaaahhh. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Don't worry, I am going to leave what I've already posted up.... that's an old and messed up version of my first chapter and gives no clue as to what is going to happen anyway. It is worthless to any wannabe thieves. As for posting anymore....I don't know. You people will definitely get a chance to see the story one way or another, because I intend to finish it. If I end up deciding to not publish it or if I can't publish it, I'll just drop the entire thing online and you'll get to read it for free(I probably wouldn't put as much effort into it though, lol). If I do publish it, I'll probably drop another teaser chapter or two because at that point I would definitely have a very official and full-proof copyright, haha. (unless the company I'm working with is against that for some reason)

Progress update: Yea, I'm still working on it. I've been fleshing out my plot ideas and working on fixing some of my writing problems. I have about 2 more chapters done in a rough draft form.}

_{Just figured I should put out an update to show that I'm still alive. Yep, I'm still working on that story. A little more slowly than I would have wanted to, but at least I'm making progress faster than with the last one. I've almost finished first drafts of the next two chapters (chapter 2 is a small one though), but I'll be a while before they're in a good enough state to post.

This is quite a writing speed improvement over my last stories. I usually put about six months in between each chapter before, and now I have it down to about one, lol.

One thing though. I've been pondering if I should be sending copies of my first few chapters to publishers before posting them here. That's because they might prefer stories that weren't posted on the internet, lol. Honestly, I think the chance that a real publisher would actually like the story is very very low, I've been reading all sorts of horror stories about dealing with them, but it would certainly be preferable to self publishing.

If I do that, it'll be a while before you guys see the next chapter, but I promise that I am working on them and you'll see them eventually, lol.

Edit: I recently commissioned a picture of Darion's dragon form from =KaiserFlames, part because she's an amazing artist, and partly because I needed to get a new perspective on what he should look like. I LOVE how he came out

Hah, too bad it isn't really a secret what he's going to become in a few chapters, but I intend to try and surprise everyone with the how and why, in addition to what it leads to.}

_{Alright, when I decided to get rid of the costume shop setting that was my original primary writing subject, I didn't give too much thought to passing on ownership to anyone else. After all, both of the Co-Authors had lost interest in the setting as well.

Then I remembered that *Alimar has written more in the setting than I have! His writing has become very good and I know that he isn't the kind of person who will do weird things in the setting. So, I've discussed things with him, and he's willing to take things over.

So, if you're interested in continuing to follow my old costume shop setting under new management, go watch *Alimar! Just keep in mind it might take him a moment to set things up, and try to not flood him with too many notes.

Everything that happens with the setting is up to him now. The only thing that I've really requested from him is that he keep the same 'morality rules' that I did, aka: no fetishy stuff, no transgender, no adult stuff. I'm also probably going to put up my old stories on a different account, since this way questions about them won't be getting redirected to me XD

*is relieved that he has found a way to resolve this problem* Haha, get ready for a flood Alimar XD

_{Yay, I finally got the first chapter of Wings of Aether up! I'm hoping that I'll be able to put out new chapters for this story a bit more often than the last one.

I'll be honest though, my primary motivation here for finishing this story is the thought of actually publishing it, so if I can actually find someone who would publish it I don't think more than 4 chapters will actually get posted on DA (enough for a teaser and for me to get general critiques ). If I can't find a publisher or can't get it to a high enough level of quality for publishing, then the story is likely to be shortened quite a bit, but I'll still try and finish it and post it all here.

Either way, I hope that people will have something to talk about in my user comments now other than my old costume shop series. *rolls eyes* I mean sure, I definitely appreciate that people really liked it, but I just want to move onto other things right now.

I need to figure out what to do about people who want a copy of the old stories, because I'm not going to have the time to send them in an email to every person who wants them. I think someone made an archive somewhere....maybe I should find that and post a link.
